Mzik And Zadde Initiative (Zadde)

What We Do

Zadde exists because parenting is the most important job in the world, and the least supported. Everything below is built around one idea: a parent who feels heard can do almost anything.

The Problem

My child is becoming difficult and I don't know what to do.

Every parent reaches a moment where the child in front of them stops matching the child they expected. Zadde starts there — not with advice, but with a room full of people who recognize that feeling.

I'm trying my best. But it doesn't seem to be working.

Effort without a shared language often lands nowhere. Zadde helps parents and children build the words, the patience, and the small rituals that let effort finally reach its target.

I feel alone in this.

Parenting was never meant to happen in isolation. Zadde Clubs put parents back in a circle — recurring, local, and made of people walking the same road.

Our Approach: Listening First

Most parenting programs start by teaching. Zadde starts by listening. Before a single tip is offered, a parent is given space to say what is actually happening at home. That listening is not a warm-up — it is the method. Parents who feel understood are the ones who are ready to try something new.

The Four Services

Zadde Show

A live community event where music opens a door that a lecture never could. Parents arrive for the songs and leave having said things out loud they hadn't said before.

Find a Show

Zadde Club

A recurring circle of parents in the same area, meeting on a set day, holding each other accountable to keep showing up — for their children and for one another.

Direct Support

Sometimes a parent needs to talk today. Direct Support is one-on-one listening over WhatsApp, for the moments that can't wait for the next Show or Club meeting.

Zadde Fest

An annual gathering that brings every Show and every Club together to celebrate how far parents have come — proof that this work adds up to something real.

The Science Behind It

Zadde draws on what developmental research has shown for decades: children regulate better when their parents feel supported, and parents change behavior faster when they feel understood rather than corrected. Music and shared community aren't decoration — they lower the guard that keeps real change from happening.

Our Music

Every Zadde Show is built around original music written for Ugandan parents, in the languages they raise their children in. The songs carry the same message the whole organization is built on: you are not alone, and you are doing better than you think.
